A SALUTE TO HONOUR THE LATE CHIEF PETTY OFFICER DIANA DRUMMOND-THOMAS
On 12 March 2025, the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) solemnly welcomed home Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Diana DRUMMOND-THOMAS, as family, friends, and mourners gathered to honour her life and service.
The ceremonial proceedings were twofold-Delta Air Lines provided an Honour Guard during the dignified transfer of her remains, with escort provided by US Army Major George CHACON, Lieutenant Commander Miguel FERGUSON, and Chief Petty Officer Stacy-Ann LEWIS-WALTERS of the JDF.
The Jamaican leg of the repatriation was marked by deep reverence. A bearer party retrieved her remains from the aircraft, followed by a solemn salute from the firing party. The Chief of Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Antonette WEMYSS GORMAN, Brigade Commander of the Maritime, Air, and Cyber Command, Brigadier Elon CLARKE, along with other senior officials of the JDF, stood in respect, paying tribute to her sacrifice and service.
CPO DRUMMOND-THOMAS’ journey home was marked by love, honour, dignity, and the unwavering gratitude of those she served and is a testament to the service she gave.
