Yesterday, the Defence Force (JDF) in partnership with the Forestry Department conducted a tree planting initiative as part of the Jamaica Reforestation Programme, which was launched in 2019 by the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister. In aspiration of the mantra of 'Three million trees in three years', a total of 70 trees including yellow and pink poui were planted in Lathbury Barracks, Up Park Camp, Kingston. The Initiave was led by Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Tanya Spence, Commanding Officer of the Support and Services Battalion and Ms Claudelle Maitland, Forest Technician at the Forestry Department.
