Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of World War One The occasion recognizes the members of their armed forces who died in the line of duty. The day is highly revered by members of the JDF and on Sunday November 10, 2019, they turned out at the Garrison Church of Ascension Up Park Camp and the National Heroes Park to honour those brave men and women who served and paid for the freedoms we now enjoy as a nation.

Jamaica Defence Force

On Wednesday November 6, 2019 Admiral Craig Faller, Commander United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) visited the Jamaica Defence Force where he met Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Rocky Meade, and other senior members of the JDF. Admiral Faller's visit to Up Park Camp forms part of a two day trip to the island aimed at strengthening the mutually supportive partnership between Jamaica and the United States.
