Major Noel Lewis

Born December 29, 1982, to two military Parents, Major Neil and Lt Janice Lewis, Maj Noel A C Lewis is the first of 10 children they had with each other, 4 boys and 6 girls. He attended Ardenne High School, and upon Graduation of 6th form in 2000, was accepted on scholarship to the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, where he completed his officer training and received a Bachelor of Science in Control Systems Engineering. He Joined the JDF in July 2004 and proceeded to Flight school at 3 Canadian Forces Flight Training Centre, Portage La Prairie, Manitoba Canada in October 2004. He graduated with his military pilot wings in April 2006 on the Bell 206 B Jetranger. He was immediately employed as a Copilot on the Bell 412EP, then in December 2008 received an aircraft captaincy on the Bell 407. He then moved on to be an instructor on the Bell 206 at the Caribbean Military Aviation School in early 2009. He qualified as an Instrument Check pilot in 2011 and achieved A1 Category Flight instructor in 2016. Appointments held in the JDF Air Wing are Operations Officer, and Officer Commanding Training Flight. He also held the appointment as SO2J6 Comms and Information Systems at HQ JDF. In 2017 he was appointed Officer Commanding Number 1 Flight, the Fixed Wing Operational Flight and completed his qualifications on the Beechcraft King Air 350 ER. The Number 1 Flight proudly operates the JDF’s Maritime Patrol Aircraft in support of Maritime Domain Awareness throughout Jamaica’s Flight Information Region. In 2020 He took up the role of SO2G3 at the Maritime Air and Cyber Command, controlling operations for the 2 JDF Coast Guard Districts and the JDF Air Wing. Upon return to the JDF Air Wing in 2022 he took over as the Officer Commanding 1 Field Workshop, then was appointed second in command at the unit. Presently he is the Acting Commanding Officer of the JDF Air Wing, having been appointed to the post in May 2024. He is Happily Married to Dr Sara Lawrence-Lewis since December 2018 and they have two children together.
