Colonel O’neil A Bogle

Colonel (Col) O’Neil Bogle joined the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) in January, 2000. He attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and graduated in April, 2001. He has held a number of military appointments throughout his career. These appointments include: Infantry Platoon Commander, Battalion Intelligence Officer, Officer Commanding Alpha and Headquarter Companies at the First Battalion the Jamaica Regiment (1 JR), Officer Commanding JDF Logistics Company, Support and Services Battalion, Staff Officer Finance, SO1 J1 (Personnel and Administration) at Headquarters Jamaica Defence Force and notably Commanding Officer, 1 JR.

Colonel Bogle was also appointed the Acting Inspector General at HQ JDF where he had responsibilities for Audit, Inspections and Ceremonials. Promoted to his current rank in April 2021, Colonel Bogle assumed the post of President of the Caribbean Military Academy in April 2022. Colonel BOGLE has attended a number of other professional development courses to include the International Officer Basic Intelligence Course, USA; Defence Resources Management Course, Guatemala; Army Operations Course, Canada; Army Command Staff Course, Nanjing China; Managing Defence in the Wider Security Context, UK and the Naval Command College at the Naval War College, USA.

He is the holder of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Economics, Masters of Science (MSc) Degree in Security Conflict and International Development, National Security and Strategic Studies and Military Science.

Colonel Bogle has been awarded the Medal of Honour for Meritorious Service, Military Commendation Medal, Medal of Honour for General Service for operations in the local theatre and Medal of Honour for Long Service and Good Conduct.
