Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1) David O Rattray

 

Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1) David O Rattray is a graduate of the Norman Manley High School (1982-1988). He enlisted in the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) on the 18th of September 1989.

During his military career WO1 Rattray has completed the following courses: Potential Non-Commissioned Officers Cadre, Junior Non-Commissioned Officers Cadre, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Cadre, Warrant Officers Course, Range Management Course, Supervisory Management Course, Basic Vehicle Mechanic Course (Belize), Vehicle Mechanic Course (Jamaica German Automotive School), Machinist Course, Plant Operator Mechanic Course, First Sergeant Course (US Sergeant Academy), Custom Hardware, Custom Operating System, Custom Internet Basics and Security ( US Sergeant Academy), Daimler Commercial Vehicle Plant (Mexico), All Arms Service Fund Course, VIP Close Protection and Tactical Driving Course and the Driver Training Programme (Jamaica Urban Transit).

WO1 Rattray has held the following positions throughout his career in the JDF: the First Battalion the Jamaica Regiment (1 JR) and the Second Battalion the Jamaica Regiment (2 JR) for six (6) months each, respectively as a Rifleman; then he was also posted to the Support and Services Battalion (then Provost Unit). Further he has served in the Jamaica Defence Force Workshop (1994-2019), Headquarters Administrative Detachment (27th of May 2019 to the 18th of August 2019) as the Detachment Sergeant Major and to the Corps of Military Police (19th of August 2019 to present).

He was also deployed to New York for the Independence celebrations in the Jamaican Consulate.

WO1 Rattray is the recipient of the Medal of Honour for Long Service and Good Conduct, First and Second Bar to Medal of Honour for Long Service and Good Conduct, Queen’s Diamond Victoria Jubilee Medal and General Service Medal.

WO1 Rattray has two (2) children. His hobbies are swimming and reading.
