Master Chief Petty Officer Class One Ackley J Christie
Master Chief Petty Officer Class One (MCPO1) Ackley Christie Jnr. was born on the 30th of November 1964 at the Spanish Town Hospital, St Catherine to parents Mr Ackley Christie Snr. and Miss Deloris Harris. He enrolled in St Catherine High School in 1981 had the privilege of representing them in the 1985 the Manning Cup competition.
On the 10th of September 1987 he enlisted in the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), and graduated as the Best Recruit. After initial training he was attached to the Second Battalion the Jamaica Regiment (2 JR) for two months on-the-job training and was later posted to the 1st District Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard (1st Dist JDF CG).
While serving at the 1st Dist JDF CG MCPO1 Christie attended a number of courses, to include: Seamanship (C3, C2,C1), Coxswain (USA), Boarding Team Member Course (USA), Maritime Law Enforcement Instructor Course, Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, Port Security Course, Basic Instructor Training School (USA), Boarding Officer Course (USA), Port Physical Security/Port Vulnerability Assessment, Advance Leadership Development (USA), Quartermaster Course, Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Course, Drill Course, Service Funds Course, and all the respective NCO cadres.
Over the period of his career he has served as coxswain on board HMJS HOLLAND BAY, HMJS FORT CHARLES, HMJS MIDDLESEX, Regulating Chief HMJS CAGWAY, Regulating Chief Flotilla, Drill Sergeant Major Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DTD) and he is presently the RSM of DTD.
