Ever wondered how a bambi bucket operation is conducted?
Here are some video highlights that show how the Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing (JDF AW), at the request of the Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB), assisted with aerial firefighting services in the Irish Town area.
The Bell429, fitted with the Bambi Bucket, made eighty-seven (87) drops in order to completely extinguish the fire.
The conducting of this type of operation requires the JDF AW to access the closest and most accessible water source, which may be a public water storage facility.
The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) hereby advises that it is aware of the water restrictions and limitations on these facilities and this is given due consideration as the service to the nation and assistance to the JFB is rendered.
