The seventh batch of the Jamaica National Service Corps (JNSC), Intake 2019/02, marked the end of their final phase of their basic training with a Certification Ceremony at the JNSC Multipurpose Building in Up Park Camp today August 27, 2020.
The 488-member Intake completed the various phases of the JNSC training programme, increasing the total amount of participants to have come through the program to 3785 thus far. Each member of the Intake was awarded a HEART/NSTA Trust qualification in Security Service Core Operation Level 2 and a Caribbean Military Academy certificate as an Infanteer Class 4. The intake will now move on to the next phase of their careers.
The Honour Graduate award was presented to Pte Blake, N. She is from the parish of Manchester and has proven herself to be outstanding during the course of the programme. The Runner-Up Honour Graduate was Pte Burke, K, from the parish of Clarendon.
During the programme, members of the intake were exposed to developmental training and other activities including mandatory fitness training, military swimming, community service, communication skills, critical thinking and financial management.
The event was attended by Keynote Speaker, Professor Dale Webber, Principal of the University of the West Indies, Mona, Lieutenant General Rocky Meade, Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier Radgh Mason, President of the Caribbean Military Academy among other senior JDF Officers.
