Today, the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) participated in the 25th staging of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run. A total of one hundred and twenty-five (125) servicemembers from the Brigades across the Force participated. The event was organized under the theme “Run for Fun – Donate for a cause”. Major Zavian Phipps, member of the JDF Sports Board and Officer in Charge of Force Athletics and Cross Country, lauded the effort to reinforce a culture of fitness, health and wellness and general camaraderie among the fitness enthusiasts but, more importantly, the opportunity to give full support to a worthy cause. Instrumental in the organization of the JDF’s participation in the event was Lieutenant Chelsea Montague, Second in Command of Force Athletics and Cross Country, who commended all service members who gave their best effort as well as other participants who happily cheered on Team JDF, as we covered the 5.5K route in cadence, humbled and highly motivated.
