Lieutenant Colonel Nadine Notice
 

Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Nadine Notice joined the Jamaica Defence Force in January 2007 after completing a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) with double majors in Biochemistry and Zoology at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.  She was commissioned in the rank of Second Lieutenant in May 2008 after completing Initial Officer Training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in the United Kingdom. At the RMAS, the then Ocdt Notice distinguished herself and was the recipient of the Commandant’s Merit Prize, the Communications and Management Studies Prize and the Prince Saud Abdullah Faisal of Saudi Arabia Prize. On her return to Jamaica, the then Second Lieutenant Notice  was posted to the Second Battalion the Jamaica Regiment (2 JR) and was the first regular female officer to be posted to an Infantry Unit.

After serving as the Regimental Signals Officer (RSO) in 2 JR, she was transferred to the Administrative Company of the Support and Services Battalion where she was employed as the Officer Commanding and the Force Recruiting Officer. She also served as Officer Commanding the then Medical Company (now the Health Services Corps) before being selected to study medicine at the University of the West Indies, Mona. She completed her Bachelor Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2015.  Following medical school, Lt Col Notice completed internship at the Spanish Town Hospital; during her Senior House Officer period, she worked in General Surgery, Nephrology, and the Accident and Emergency Department of the Spanish Town Hospital. She also worked in primary care at the Old Harbour and the St. Jago Park Health Centers.

Throughout her military service, Lt Col Notice has held several additional appointments to include Second-in command, 2 JR, staff appointments at HQ JDF (A/SO1 J1 and A/SO1 J2/J3), Officer Commanding the Administrative, Logistics and Pharmaceutical Company of the Health Services Corps, Acting Force Medical Officer, and Acting Officer Commanding Headquarter Company (2JR).  She is currently employed as the Commanding Officer for the Health Services Corps.

Lt Col Notice is currently pursuing a Master of Science Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.  She has been awarded The General Service Medal.  She enjoys playing squash and cycling.
