Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Anthony Gregory joined the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) in 2001 and was commissioned in the rank of Second Lieutenant in May of the following year. After completing Initial Officer Training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and on returning to Jamaica he was posted to the First Battalion The Jamaica Regiment.
Lt Col Gregory was posted to JDF Air Wing in 2002 where he served for most of his career. At the JDF Air Wing he held the positions of Engineering Officer, Officer Commanding 1 Field Workshop and also Acting Commanding Officer. In addition to the JDF Air Wing Lieutenant Colonel Gregory was posted to the newly formed Combat Support Battalion in 2009 as the Unit’s first Adjutant.
He has completed numerous professional courses throughout his career including: Aerospace Engineering Officer (2004), Bell Helicopter Field Maintenance Training on the 412 EP, 407and 206 B3 along with Field Maintenance Training on the Eurocopter AS355N and the Diamond DA 40 FP. In addition to the aviation specific courses he has attended Managing Defence Resources (2017), Manoeuvre Captain Career Course (2010) and Caribbean Junior Command and Staff Course (2009).
Lt Col Gregory holds a Masters in Business Administration focusing on Project Management from Anglia Ruskin University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management Design and Implementation (2007).
He has been a member of the project team for several Capital Projects to include rationalization of the light helicopter fleet from Eurocopter AS355N to Bell 407 (2008), the rationalization and recapitalization of the entire JDF helicopter fleet moving to the Bell 429 (2018) and the Maritime Domain Awareness Project to include the procurement of the King Air 350 ER and the Damen Surface Vessels. He is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and is currently appointed the Senior Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Officer (SEMEO) for the JDF.
Lt Col Gregory has been awarded the Medal of Honour for Meritorious Service, Medal of Honour for General Service (2018), The Chief of Defence Staff Commendation Medal and the Medal of Honour for Long Service and Good Conduct.
Lt Col Gregory is an avid supporter of Liverpool Football Club. He is married to Sancha and has one son Mikael.
